Not having seen the application form you submitted, or knowing exactly what was said btwn the two groups, it is very hard to make any judgements based on the email you copied here.

I too have been rejected by a breed specific rescue organization w/the same "tone" the email used. Taking personally is the easiest route. Perhaps you could speak directly to the group giving the information you gave us in greater detail than a standardized form allows?

Having very young children and a new dog is something that is difficult for many. The rescue group would open themselves to a great amt of liability if placing a dog in a home w/small children and a bite occurred. Because of the potential for disaster, it is in everyone's best interest that the rescue group be very cautious.
