Hi!
Having 2 dogs is twice as nice as having one, and the boxer will still need your hubby and you as companions. As you've found, puppies like to play and they do like to play with each other. What these puppies also need is time away from each other and with their special human. I would suggest your husband take some one-on-one bonding time with the boxer and go to an obeidence class with him. Even if the boxer is well behaved, taking a class like this is a wonderful experience and really creates a strong bond between the owner and the dog. Perhaps you can join in by taking the other puppy and bonding with that one. The classes are alot of fun and you may find that you will want to compete with your dogs, or join a therapy group or even agililty. Time will need to be taken at home with each pup, so the training continues and the bond becomes stronger.
Believe me, as much as dogs like to play with each other, they sure do enjoy the special time with their human. Especially when they get older and play less. Having 2 is also important if they spend any amount of time alone at home during the day while you work. Then they don't become lonely and destructive.
Good luck and keep us posted!!
