That really does help. When I had my lab/shep mix, Maddie, euthanized in her old age, I was ever so thankful that I had adopted Cleo a few months before. In fact, when I came home carrying Maddie's leash, collar and tags, it helped me immensely to immediately take Cleo for a walk to help clear my head and reflect on the good memories I had of Maddie. The cat and Cleo developed more of a bond after Maddie's death. The cat sulked for days after Maddie died and actually only came out of her funk when I brought home the urn. It was like she sensed Maddie's presence in the ashes. I know that sounds dubious, but you had to be there to see her come out of the window sill, jump on the table and gleefully start unraveling the beautiful bow that was tied on the urn with a card from the vet. And there are still people who believe that animals don't have feelings! Give the little bulldog a hug for me. What's her name?

:that we adopted last summer. She is a little American Bulldog, so I think that cushioned the blow for Nehi.
