TREATS, TREATS & more TREATS! When I start out with a green dog, I carry treats in my hand, when the do an obsticle, I call them back to me and give them a treat. This really helps keep their attention on you. I alternate between treats and a favorite squeak toy. Both work wonders! I have a smal brag, my Carson and I competed in our club's NADAC Trial and Sunday we ended up getting a 3rd in Standard Round 1 and a 4th in Standard Round 2! I'm so proud of my guy!

:I've got a dog that I'm just starting in agility. I'm not expeciting miracles right away, but one thing I've already noticed to be a problem is my dog gets over-excited (especially while jumping) that she runs ahead of me and doesn't look back for direction from me. I've been told calling her name should stop her and have her look at me, well that's fine when she's next to me, but once she's about 8' away her name means nothing to her. I've tried a long line and recalls, but it seems that all my "proofing" goes out the window once agility equipment is around.
