Hi, Just a thought, I have two beautiful mals, and in their training I learned first off you must have eye contact, this can be done by holding a treat or a favorite toy infront of your eyes, and for longer each time, starting with about 1-2 seconds, then start giving your comands. As far as the dog doing stuff like getting onthe counters etc., all mals are family dogs and must have their special time each day. If they feel they are not part of the family they will indeed act up. Try the comand thing first. It is trying on your patience and all but they are sure worth it.
