No worries. It would be nice for you to have a paper pedigree because it helps you determine (with research) what kind of dogs are in your boy's pedigree through direct descent and laterally as well. However, you have time yet, I believe, to consider what to do. Please do keep in mind that your boy's lovely temperament may change as he gets into adolescence (I've forgotten if he is already there or not) or around a year old, give or take. This is a time for many dogs - just like teenage humans - to get a bit independent and willful (smiling here cause I know you are 17 and I'm not aiming this at you) and forget any and all training, becoming selectively deaf and stupid, and also for hormones to play their part.
