:I have a free blue Aussie that needs to find a new home.

Hi Cass,
I would like to let you know about Aussie Rescue organizations in your area. Aussie Rescue ensures that your girl will be place in a safe home with people who are able to give her the love and TLC she deserves. If the Leavenworth you are near is the one in Kansas, ARPH (Aussie Rescue and Placement Helpline) has two reps in that state--one in Kansas City and one in Wichita. To contact one of them (whichever one is closest to you) go to http://www.aussierescue.org and click on the link to ARPH Reps & Officers. Then click on the Midwest link and scroll down to Kansas. The email addresses for these reps is linked, so just click on the one closest to you. Tell them about your girl and give them some contact information (a specific town, a phone number, your full name) and some details about the dog (name, age, if she's spayed, up to date on vacs, temperament, etc). They will contact you for further information and to help you start the process of finding a home. Please be patient if you don't hear back right away--they are busy volunteers with jobs and families in addition to their rescue work. There is another organization called Second Time Around Aussie Rescue (STAAR), but apparently, due to limited foster home space, they will require you to keep your dog until they find a home. Here is a link to their listing application: http://www.staar.org/howtolist.html

As Tasha said, there are dangers of offering a dog free to a good home, so breed rescue is a good safe alternative.

Good luck finding the right home for your girl.
Kathy
