Hi from Alaska! :-) wanted to introduce myself here. We have a basenji that hails from Ohio... My teenage daughter wanted a dog she could show.. small..easy to keep and feed and care for and yet be flashy enough to do well in Jr. Showmanship. There are no other Basenji's being shown up here and hasn't been except one dog one time and she was a 6 mo old and they haven't shown since. My daughters dog has done well in the Group Ring though and she took her First 1st place in the HOund Group..we were so excited. We found out he almost took BIS too.. that was exciting enough for us after years of showing our dogs.
Our dog can be seen on the Cover of the new 2003 Brown Trout Calendar ..he is cover dog and a larger photo of him can be seen on one of the months too.
His name is "Rumors Deuces Wild" bred by Melissa Casey of Rumors Kennels. He shares a very small home with 4 male & 2 female chesapeake bay retrievers and a male Gordon Setter, a male Cardigan corgi . hope to hear from other basenji owners!
