This was NOT caused by a lack of fiber. Dogs have an extremely low need for fiber. It IS serious, however, and was certainly caused by SOMETHING!
Don't you feed veggies in the dog's diet? What exactly do you feed?
If my pup had a fever of 106 and bloody stool I'd hospitalize him or her too. However, I have raw-fed my dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens for almost 17 years and have never had this happen. So while you may well want to change what you feed your pup, I see no reason why going back to kibble would fix this.

:I have an 11 month old puupy, that I raw feed. Recently he had some urinary issues so i took him to a conventional vet. Turns out puppy had a temp of 106. he also had watery stools, a lot of white blood cells in the urine and very alkaline urine.
:They gave puupy a lot of cephazolan, but nothing changed. His stools are now formed, but bloody.
:The vet siad all of this was the result of him not getting enough fiber in his diet, and that i should return to kibble.
:Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

:p.s. i called his regular vet for a second opinion and he want to hospitalize the dog today.
