By viscious, do you mean that he is placing his teeth on the pups or he is trying to draw blood? There is a difference. He is asserting himself and this will involve some growling, flipping the pups over and placing the teeth on their necks, posturing over them, an occasional flash of teeth, etc. Adult dogs are generally very good at knowing their limits with young pups. That is, showing them on no uncertain terms who the boss is, but not causing injury or pain. If the dog is drawing blood, puncture wounds, etc, then it is time to keep them separated until you can get some professional intervention. Getting your boy neutered may help some, and either way, is a good idea. Good luck!
