my family owns a beautiful female boxer who is just over a year old. she is very well behaved in most respects, obeys many vocal/hand commands (ie she does cool tricks) and is EXTREMELY friendly. unfortunately, her wonderful outgoing attitude is a bit of a problem when new people are in the house, especially people who are not comfortable around dogs. she gets so excited that somebody came over to see her (because why else would they come to her house?) that she tends to jump. not necessarially jumping onto people, just jumping beside them, and sometimes brushing an elbow. we've tried everything that we can think of to discourage this behavior, but we can't seem to figure out how to stop this. most of the time she ends up having to be crated, which is awful for her when she still knows that there are people around. any suggestions?
thanks
