:Note to the moderators:
:I did make it to the chat, but it was apparently completely incompatible with my computer. Using either Netscape or IE it crashed my computer
:within a couple minutes, and one time the crash caused the in box on my email (Eudora) to be corrupted. I also tried mIRC but wasn't
:able to find my way in that way.
:I am very experienced with chat rooms through a variety of interfaces, and have never had this sort of problem before.
I'm really sorry you had trouble getting into the chat! We had a room count of well over 200 the entire time, with a total hit count of around 400, so it may be that the system was just overloaded. Have you had any kind of problems with java applets before? Since the chat isn't run with any kind of software on your computer, I don't think it can actually be incompatible, and I don't see any way it could corrupt your email program unless it's integrated with your browser somehow? And even then it doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Is there any chance you have a virus or trojan in your system?
On mIRC (which is how I access the chats, I much prefer it!), we are on the server irc.webmaster.com at #thedogden. The directions on how to fill in the server information are in step 3 in our IRC FAQ at http://www.pethobbyist.com/IRCIntro.html.
The transcript of the chat is at http://www.doghobbyist.com/CanineRepro.html.
Please try joining us again for a smaller chat, and let me know if you continue to have problems! We might be able to get one of our techies to troubleshoot things for you!
