It depends on when she first came into season. It shouldn't be more than a couple of weeks. While she is in season, be sure to keep her confined, and only walk her on leash. This includes going out to go to the bathroom and even if you have a fenced yard. Dogs can and do mate through chain link. This is a great time to make an appointment to get her spayed. Then you will never have to go through all this again.
