I do not own a Cavalier yet, plan to get a pup this summer. I have talked to a few breeders, and several people who do own them though. Now, to answer your questions. The Cavalier thrives for human companionship, and ARE lap dogs. They only want to be with you. They love everyone. If someone were to break into your house, your cavalier will make friends with him, and more than likely be more than willing to leave with him too lol. Do you work? They shouldnt be left alone for long days. They need to be with you.
