Whashing your Chessy with soap is fine, It will tend to take out some of the natural oils in the coat this will be replaced quickly. Few points to remember ,dont bath a out door dog in colder temps, don't use a real harsh soap,and don't over do it. no need for more than one bath every two weeks hope this helps
