It sounds like a peculiar trait of this particular dog. Some dogs walk on front feet with their butts in the air when excited. Scooting their butts accross the floor is an Old wives tale indicating worms. This is false as dogs scoot their butts across the floor to either empty their anal glands, to wipe feces that itch off their anus, or to lubricate their anus with a fresh batch of oil from their anal glands. Remember that dogs do not have cheeks to protect the anus from drying out like people do. That is the purpose of the oil glands--to lubricate the tissue. In any case, love your dog and have them checked on a 6 month basis with a vet to determine if there are intestinal parasites such as worms. Most dogs do not show any signs of worms, even though they are there.

:when my puppy gets very excited(or maybe she is just crazy)she curls her rear to the floor, lifts her hind legs up and walks on her front legs. my wife says it may be worms, but she isn't dragging, she actually looks like she is trying to lift herself up. i also see no signs of worms. she's only done it a few times, but it seems like it's a gesture, and i don't know what she's trying to tell me,if anything at all.
