I had that problem with my cocker also. unfortunately he passed away, after 12 years of companionship. Max always used to lick his feet, and most of the times, there was something the matter with them. When i stretched his toes apart a little, he would start to lick and sniff. the base of the toenail was a little moist, and painful to him. just try and rub some vaseline inbetween the toes, if u cannot find the "wound" just rub vaseline inbetween all his or her toes. any little wound will heal rightaway. sorry for my bad english, but i just try to be of any help. Good luck and be nice to the best dog in the world; cocker spaniels!!!!!!

: Hello, i hope im sending this right. if your talking about a cocker spaniel, i have one that is almost nine and she constantly licks her feet too, mostly the front. there is no sign of bleeding and as far as i know she does it because she is either cleaning her feet and pure annoyance. i hate it when she does it too, because she breathes deeply and when she licks its extremely loud.
