2 years we adopted a approx 3 year old Cocker Spaniel. We previously had an Irish Setter & thought a cocker was just a smaller version. Boy were we wrong! We don't know how our dog was treated prior to us adopting him, but this dog (I am personally convinced he's not really a dog - I think he's someone I offended in a prior life) is just mean. When his on my bed I have to beg him for a cuddle, then he'll only allow one stroke and he's off. At bedtime he howls.. all the doors have to be open & he walks from room to room waking every one up as he goes. Sadly he also is very aggressive - he has bitten me & drawn blood and also my husband, he really is a nasty peice of work, but we LOVE him. I can never say he's a pleasure to have, he has NO redeeming features, not one. We have to stay with him while he's being groomed, because he's just so vicious. We've taken him to classes, we were asked to leave. We took him to solo training classes - no joy.
For some strange reason we thought adopting another do might help - we adopted a Rottie, German Sheperd Cross, a 4 month old female, she's twice the size of him, she's wonderful sweet dog, but alass none of it has rubbed off. This morning he was limping, & I noticed he had a small burr in his paw, when I tried remove it he bit me very badly. In the end I ran the bath (he's like a lamb in water) and removed it, it took less then 2 seconds. HELP...
