For hounds entered all 3 days, there is an Iron Hound competition within
each breed.
it is scored and how to enter.
SPRINT RACING - OVAL RACING - LURE COURSING
BEST COMBINED 3-DAY RANK IN EACH BREED
Labor Day Weekend, 2002
(no additional entry fee is required)
The Northern California Whippet Club is offering a framed Certificate
to the
hound in each breed with the Best Combined Performance in straight racing
(LGRA or NAWRA), oval track racing (NOTRA) and lure coursing (ASFA) over
the Labor Day weekend. Hounds must be ENTERED on the form below and
must COMPETE in all 3 events to be eligible. Hounds who do not earn high
score in their breed, but COMPLETE the 3 events without scratching, will
receive an Honorable Mention rosette commemorating their achievement.
The scoring for the Iron Hound competition will be based on the RANK
ORDER in which the Iron Hound
competitors finish WITHIN EACH BREED each day. The ASFA rank will be based on
preliminary and final course scores only; BOB and BIF scores will not be
considered. The SUM of the 3 daily RANKS will be the final Iron Hound score.
Thus the LOW score wins - a perfect score would be 3 - the sum of the ranks of
a dog that came in 1st (among those of its breed entered as an Iron Hound) on
each of the 3 days of competition. In case of any
ties, the higher ranking dog on the third day (ASFA) will be the winner. There
will be no competition among breeds. No over-all Iron Dog will be determined.
may be submitted with the ASFA entry or sent by email to
