Mason-Dixon Ibizan Hound Club (MDIHC) will be holding their
Annual "Sighthound Spree" on the weekend of Saturday/Sunday August
10/11 at Treybeau Farms (the home of Cackie Vroom and Dean Wright) in
Holtwood, PA.

The format of the very popular "Spree" is that the Saturday events
consist of an unsanctioned conformation "Fun Match", under a well-
known sighthound breeder judge (this year the judge will be Jim Boose
of Hi-Fi Italian Greyhound Kennels). Conformation classes include
accommodate 3-6mo, 6-9mo, 9-12mo, Novice, Open and Coursing
categories. Breed Champions, spayed and neutered hounds may be
entered, and BoB (Adult and Puppy) and Best in Match (Adult and
Puppy) are awarded. Upon completion of BIM, Puppy Lure Coursing is
offered, with Puppy Runs for 3-6, 6-9, 9-12, and 12-18mo pups. Prizes
are awarded.

The Sunday is given over to a regular sanctioned Lure Coursing Trial
under ASFA Regulations. The judges for this year's event are Jeff
Lipps from Ohio, and Ian Davies from Maryland. BoB and BIF Trophies
are awarded. Upon completion of the Best in Field, a "Best in Spree"
is chosen. Each breed provides one representative. Eligibility is
limited to hounds that competed in both Conformation and Coursing,
and the hound that defeated the most dogs in its own breed over both
events will be that breed's representative. An ASFA judge will
select and award the Best in Sighthound Spree.

Due to a variety of non-anticipated issues, it is regretted that the
mailing of Sighthound Spree Premiums (and associated Flyers) has been
delayed; however, they will all be mailed out prior to August 2. If
you are not on the MDIHC Database, and would like to receive a
premium, (or MS Word file version via e-mail attachment) please
contact either Cackie Vroom (cackie@epix.com) for the Match; or Ian
Davies (devospad@aol.com) / Dean Wright (wdw@akc.org) for the Trial.
