Thank you. I appreciate your thoughts that helped me begin rethinking when I should use the "Come" command.

I do not feel comfortable with the dog running free when it gets to the point that he does not obey my command. They seems like asking for problems. As to why I want him to come before he goes in the water, I would really he rather not go in the water. If I can stop him before he gets to the water's edge I will hope that he will not go further. At the momnet that is my goal, but I will be thinking about what commands I should use. Thank you.
