::
::Kathy,

::Tilly was used to sleeping with her foster parents. She is only crated during the day for about 3-4 hours the most. She has lots of stimulation with the children and our Lhasa. Tilly is not completely house broken just yet and I prefer not to have her loose at night. Is that bad of me? I thought maybe it is because Tippy our Lhasa comes and goes out of his crate a he pleases, but he also is house broken.
::Kelly>>>>

:Kelly, the other dog having the freedom that works for him because of training and maturity is not a problem for crate-training the pup. It is best to use confinement until she is housetrained, and I think the night fussing is likely due to her previous experience sleeping with the humans. That will make it take longer for her to get used to being crated at night, but it should still work. Make sure she is warm enough and that all her needs are met, but be very careful NOT to give her any attention at all when she is making noise. You're doing her a favor in the long run by getting her used to the crate and confining her until she's ready to handle more freedom.
