:I have a white american bulldog that get just plain FILTHY!!!! I was looking at ALL the shampoos on the market and had NO clue what to get him. We live in Wisconsin sooo winters will be pretty dry. Since the heater has cranked up he has begun itching a bit. SOOOO I am looking for something that is gentle on skin if not conditioning to skin and also for white dogs altho that is a low priority... Would rather him be more confortable than perfectly white...

I would recommend a plain old oatmeal shampoo for your dog. IT's a nice, gentle shampoo which can be used fairly frequently and helps prevent itchy skin.

If he has any skin folds, be ESPECIALLY Careful to rinse thoroughly, moving the skin aside if you must, and dry these folds THOROUGLY. I often use a Q-tip or towel end dipped in cornstarch in the skinfolds to promote dryness and prevent chapping or any germs growing in those warm, moist areas. (DO NOT put cornstarch in his ears or eyes, naturally)
