Clip him and toss a coat on him. He'll be fine and won't care a bit that he's been clipped. You'll have a funny looking nekkid dog for a while, but it grows back. You'll get even more "What kind of dog is that?" comments than usual. Good for you for taking this big guy in. I wish you both luck!
