Don't wash them, it is not needed. I only wash mine after he has been in a very smelly puddle and still looks black after i get home with him. Otherwise just a rubber brush and a towl to make it shine. If the coat is smelly or dull try changing the food or just put a little olive oil or even better linseedoil over it.
Pharaoh hounds are a breed of dog that cleans themselve and the coat is short so no need for washing, it can ruin more than do good if you wash them often.

:AKC Puppy Magazine said bathing once a week is very benefical to the coat if gental shampoo is used.
