New here, but I visit other forums (We have quite a menagerie :))
I'm hoping someone has some ideas or experience with chronic yeast. We have a 2 year old female mix-breed rescue animal. A year ago she came to us in far better condition than the rescue org found her, but she came with yeast in her ears that we CANNOT get rid of! She has to be anesthetized to have them cleaned (She has some emotional issues and phobias we have had to work on as well) so we have only done that once but she has been on multiple series of diflucan and ketoconazole and Tresaderm drops (The application of which is an utter nightmare!) After each treatment she will improve, only to begin to suffer again within a month. She eats a chicken-rice based food. She is an indoor crate-trained dog without kennel bedding.
Any common experiences or ideas out there?
Thank you so much.
