KENMORE! Get thee to Sears and it'll be the best $300 you ever spend. I like the Whispertone series canister vacuums. It's something like the second from top of their line. The absolute top of their line was overkill even for my 2 long-haired dogs. Once you digest the price, just buy it. It is worth it, and my mother's Kenmore is over 20 years old now and still working like it's new. Mine is going on 3 and still digests dog hair with no problem.
