: Based on what possible evidence do you make this claims? Sounds like a complete fabrication. The fact is the vast majority of dogs do perfectly fine on good quality kibble.

Yes, please... evidence. Got any?

This is a pointless discussion, really. We all have our own definitions of "perfectly fine" and "good quality"... there is no way to prove any of this. I have a lot of reasons for my dislike of kibble, and many have nothing to do with nutritional adequacy.

I feel that while top notch nutrition, including supplements and fresh foods, may well improve this dog's ability to fight illness or recover from injury, it's not likely to provide the type of healing the eye needs NOW. The dog was going to have its eye removed today, after all.

I believe that this same person had posted on some lists I'm on and has gotten further information there, including the recommendation to either go to an opthamologist or to go BACK to the opthamologist and get more information and see what options there are. There are certainly holistic alternatives for treating eye wounds, if that's something the owner wants to explore. But this would need to be done under the care of a holistic veterinarian.

Diet may play a role but IMO it would be as an adjunct to specific therapy.
