I have a black and tan miniture dachshund who is 9 yrs old. He is loosing his black hair only. This is mainly on his ears, nose and tail. We took him to the vet who did a biopsy. The results indicated a disease called Moderate Follicular Hyper-Keratosis with multi focal intra-follicular melanin. The vet said it was a rare condition and didn't know if there was any treatment. He is going to check with some colleagues.

Is anyone aware of this disease? Are there holistic or homeopathic treatments. How do I find a holistic vet in my area?
