Is there a dog called an Alaskan Wolfhound? I'm looking for a large dog that can tolerate winters outdoors (similar to a Malamute or Akita). I'm searching for a good camping companion, supposedly larger than a malamute, but very well disciplined. The ideal candidate should be trainable as a guard dog, in addition to being well tempered, and great with kids, family and properly introduced friends.
