Congradulations on getting your first lab! As does Kareval, I suggest NO PETSTORES! those dogs ALL come from puppy mills. ALL of them, no matter what the staff there may tell you... Also, be aware of some buyers in the paper, as they can come from puppy mills as well. Try to visit their home and make sure it is a clean environment and ask to see the parents of your new dog as well.
My lab I got from a reputable breeder in Texas, but I remember going with my mother to buy a Bengal kitten 6 years back... the "breeder's" home was trash and the kittens all looked sick and she assured us that they were fine and that's how kittens were... uh-huh, luckily I talked my mom out of it and refered her to a Tonkinese cat shower/breeder in Pennslyvania...

But don't be discouraged, labs are absolutely wonderful!! And if you can handle a husky, a lab will be a breeze! ^_^ Post us some pictures when you get one. hope to see you around!
