::I have a 10 week old chocolate lab and when we put her in the crate when we go to bed or work she eliminates in the crate and is forced to lay in it until we get home. I have the crate sectioned off to just a big enough area for her to turn around. Is this normal for her to do for a while? Please help me out I feel bad that she has to lay in her own stuff.

:p.s. praise praise praise...loudly, and silly like.... when he does go out and does his business....this is reinforcement on good behavior...start early, and he will be trained early.

PS: 10 week old labs have the ability to hold their bladders for approximately 2-3 hours at best. How many hours at a time is she in her crate? They are like new borns...they need to be let out (or "changed") often. Its not that she'll never learn. Yet, she needs relief often because she is not developmentally (physically) ready to hold it for long periods of time. Crate training is the best way to teach her to build up her stamina...but at only 10 weeks, accidents are to be expected. Limiting water/food intake prior to crating is one option. Asking a friend or neighbor to let her out 1-2 times a day is another. By 4-6 months, she should be able to hold it while you are at work (barring any sickness or virus). From my experience, puppies are like babies...they need to sleep, eat, play, and eliminate OFTEN!!! I have yet to see a dog that didn't get housebroken or crate trained given the owners are dedicated to helping their pup learn. The best advice I ever got was, "Don't break her spirit."
