Hi everyone. I'm wondering if any of you have ever witnessed your Lab engaged in the hilarious and entertaining behavior known as "butt-tucking." I'm guessing that the answer would be "yes" from at least half, if not all, of you. For anyone who hasn't yet seen this canine phenomenon, here is a brief description from labs4rescue.com:
"Butt-tucking" (not limited to Labs) is when your pup suddenly starts running in circles at top speed with his rear tucked under him. Most Labradors do this. It does not indicate a problem with your Lab, either with its temperament or its joints. However, you will want to keep a sharp eye out that you are not injured during this free-for-all!
My dog often does this with my Mom's dog—who is sort of hyper-dominant—and it puts us in stitches every time. I also see some of the Labs I work with doing it to get the rest of the dogs riled up to play. It is but one of the fascinating behavioral phenomena that contributes to my boundless love of dogs, and I thought it was worth mentioning.
