I just saved a miniature schnauzer from a shelter recently. She is absolutely wonderful. I got to spend a lot of time with her when I got her because I had a week of vacation. Today, however, I left her for the first time. I went back to work and checked on her once during the day. She was fine around lunch time. I put her back in her crate, gave her a treat and praised her. When I returned home, she greeted me at the door. I know that I did not leave the crate open. This is something her previous owners mentioned...that she was good at opening tricky things. I am concerned. I don't want her getting out during the day. I am worried that she got in such a panic during the day that she frantically tried to escape. She chewed on my sunglasses. I don't want her to get hurt. I am very concerned. Will this improve? What should I do in the meantime? Please help!!
