The reason why your dog is getting anxious is because he considers himself as the leader of the pack and contrary to common belief is worried of what might happen to you in the big world. The way you can stop him from getting anxious is by showing him that you are the leader and that he has nothing to worry about. It takes a lot of time but by starting to ignore him when he wants a fuss, and rewarding him with foodbits when he is calm he will quickly start to understand that the roles have been changed. There is much more you can do and I would recommend you buy a book from Jan Fennell entitle the dog listeners. It explains the all principle of dog behaviour and remedies. Hope this help.
