:Hi! I have 3 dogs (all from the Humane Society). Last one, Nicki, we just got a week before xmas. We were told she was mixed Dachshund / Beagle and wouldn't be more than 20/25 pounds. Well she is 12 weeks old now and weighs already 16 pounds! I'm really worried about this one :) Not that I could do anything about it... Our first 1 shouldn't have weighed more than 30 according to them and now he's 50. Any ideas?

From my experience, there's no way to predict. You think your pup will be smaller and it gets big, or you thing it'll be big and it stays small. I've never had anyone look at a dog and have any reasonable success predicting how big it'll get. My current best friend (border collie/lab mix) I was told would top out at 60 lbs max. He's now 90 (solid muscle) and can lick my forehead standing on his hind legs.
