::Number one, and this is a biggie, there are almost certainly ingredients in this food that are not listed on the label. That is because kibble manufacturers do not have to list anything that was added to the meat or meat meal at the processing facility. Typically what is added is preservatives, many of which dog owners are trying to avoid. This is a little-known loophole enabling pet food manufacturers to include preservatives without having to list them on the label. :(:

:Not true. Preservatives must be listed on the label. The only protein sources that may contain preservatives are fish meals, and again, the preservatives will be listed.

Sigh, here's a MAJOR correction to your correction. Any kibble that contains fish meal very likely contains Ethoxyquin because the fish was initially preserved with EQ. The company does not have to list this EQ on the label because they didn't add it. Companies are only required to list the preservatives that they add. Some companies however do claim to use fish meal that they make themselves without EQ, but there aren't many of those companies around. So, chances are, there's ethoxyquin in this food.

:
::And since dogs have no dietary requirement for carbohydrates at all, you know that ALL those grains are in there for reasons other than your dog's nutrition, including keeping costs low, and helping keep the kibble in its "kibbled" shape, which requires the food be at least half, or more, starchy carbs. I would rather have a diet in which all the ingredients were there for the benefit of the dog eating it!:

:Again not true. Dogs digest and metabolize starches quite easily, and provide a healthy energy source just like they do in our diets.

What Deerhounds said actaully true and what you are saying has nothing to do with the statement she wrote. Btw, what you said about starches and carbs being easily digestable by dogs, is also wrong. I could give you a huge lists of dogs that greatly improved after these ingredients were removed from the diet.

:You have be careful about what you read on the internet. There is a wealth of "information" that is either misleading or completely incorrect, most times in an effort to sell dubious products and services.

Yep, and that includes the misinformation that you are providing.
