:I wouldn't call it scare tactics or a marketing ploy I would call it educating yourself on what what your feeding your dog. BHA/BHT ARE synthetic preservatives and they are found in some dog foods. Grains are nothing but a cheaf fillers which means more $$ for the "big" commercial dog food companies. Don't even get me started on those moist handy single serving sized packet of dog foods. Those are close to being radioactive. There are some scary thing in those. I'm not making this stuff up.

Yes educating yourself is a good thing. I know what BHA/BHT are and yes they are synthetic preservatives in some dog foods but they are also in many human foods, too. Look at virtually any box of cereal, especially children's cereals and you'll see them preserved with the same thing. If you read the latest research you'll also see that that these ingredients, as they act like antioxidants, actually have some cancer protective properties. So I personally do not worry about them in human or dog foods. Others do, that's their choice.

Similar arguments can be made about grains. By the way, I know a bit about food science. :)
