Every dog does well on different things. I myself am not keen on the amount of corn in Pedigree. My dogs don't do well with it. Others do just fine. As for BHA/BHT, to name a few things, Nabisco Cereal Bars, Bridgeford Beef Jerky, Virtually all brands of pepperoni, Kellogg's Cereals, and many, many human medications are preserved with BHT (Butylated Hydroxytoluene). Most of us eat it every day. No big deal, IMO. Ethoxyquin, IMO is a different story, and I would stay away from it in dog food and in human food (it's only found as a color preserver in spices such as some brands of cayenne pepper). In the US there has been a voluntary moratorium on its use in animal feed. Lastly, propylene glycol, while relatively safe, is a sweetener used in low end semi-moist food like Purina Moist and Meaty. It is added in conjunction with corn syrup. These artificially sweetened foods are the extreme of dog food empty calories and studies have even shown excess sugar to be addicting in dogs. I wish you luck with your dog!
