I have always wanted to own a poodle-standard, and after meeting a few over the years, like them better and better. I have at this point too many pets, but when it comes time my next dog will be a standard poodle. In the meantime wanted to ask about grooming time if I expect to keep the pup in a basic cut. Id like to learn to groom myself--how much brushing, how often trimming. Also, we do a lot of hiking, camping,boating activities--I have been told poodles can be quite athletic, andcan enjoy the rigorous outdoorsmen life. Is this accurate? Any health issues I should ask breeders about-eyes, hips,etc? How about poodles living with other breeds,eg German Shephards? any feed back is appreciated! jv
