:The weather finally cooled off here- 50's at night, 70's during the day. My pack, youngest 5-ish, oldest, ancient, has a new energy. The two oldest are hopping, all 4 feet off the ground to greet me when I get home. These are not little dogs, by the way, so they don't normally have the "pogo" action that some of those little guys have. My greyhound is loving to get under the covers with me and it is actually cold enough for the corgi mix to get on the bed. Usually he prefers to sleep on the tile in the bathroom where it's cool on his belly. Everyone just seems so spunky right now. It's hard not to smile when I get home to them.

The weather here by the Chesapeake Bay has been downright chilly at night lately -- forties, when you can see your breath. My two old girls, both 12, are a Lab, Natsha and a Dobie-Shepherd, Amber. During the doldrums of summer (I refuse to say "dog days"), they had almost as much trouble out in the heat as asthmatic me and preferred to soak up the a/c. Mine have also perked up with the fall weather and have been trotting briskly around outside, following scents with renewed vigor. I'd love to hear just who comprises your pack (and hear more about each one).
