Hi all. I have an old boy who will be 14 this year. He is a Spitz x collie and his name is Tebeau. He is a complete gentleman, altho he has his momments and was a bit of a rogue in his younger days! The years have caught up with him however and he has bad arthritis in all but one leg. It's complicated as he's a rescue and was neglected with a broken leg that had no treatment. He also has almost zero mobility in one of his hips now. And occasionally he trips over his own feet. Fortunately, he is on good pain meds and most days he is very comfortable and can walk normally. However I live in Scotland, UK and right now the temperature is minus 5! So poor Tebeau is having a few problems with stiffness and finding a comfortable position to lie down in. He has problems with his elbows and hips and he's forever moving about to get comfy. He has a vet check up later this week (he has kideney problems too) and we have given him pillows and cushions and blankets and he has his own padded bed at night but I'm looking for any suggestions to make him comfy and also for safer alternatives to a hot water bottle at night. Are electric blankets safe to use? Something like that would be ideal. Thanks in advance for any help!
