You can buy dog shoes in ski resorts. I don't know whether these would help with the walking but it would save their feet getting cold and sore from any salt that is put on the sidewalks.

:Where we're located, snow is a rare thing...no real advice except to be sure to clean feet after returning back inside. :(

:Yes, I know that one ;>) But, Nature has solved most of the problem - we are now having a couple of inches of rain, which is softening the snow down quite a bit!
