Hey,
Here we are again with another problem. The reason I threw it on the forum is that two vets said that they couldn't help it.
My pup has a little puffness between his pals. I wrote to Dr. Vidt who kindly answered me that it's not unusual for brush-coated Shar Peis and it will go sooner or later.
But the problem is that recently he's started scratching those puffs, sometimes to blood.
Also he scrathes one of his front legs, a little bit above the elbow. Again, sometimes to blood or a bald spot.
Both vets said that it must be some kind of allergy. We excluded soy from his diet because I read that most of Shar Peis have a reaction to soy protein.
I also read somewhere that it can be even the allergy for the grass - and no one can help here.
One of the vets suggested that I should put a human Neosporin on his scratches and wait untill he grows up a little - than they could do the allergy testing for him.
I'm just wondering if someone ever had the similar problem? Can I put an aid-band on his scratches (or some other band) - so he couldn't touch it again and again? Or it's not good (in terms of removing it from his coat - it's gonna be painful I guess). I tried to wrap his paw with a simple hunkiechief - no need to explain what happened next and how fast he got rid of it.
Thanks and nice to talk to you all again (I bet PHRiot will be first to reply :). By the way what's your name and where do you live, if you don't mind me asking?
How is your Russian grandma (is she alive, or you wrote about her in the past tense - I just didn't understand)?
