Hi all and PHRiot in particular,

I have a huge problem here: my baby is allergic. We are taking him to different vets now (we already did a scrapping, today I'm taking him to do a biopsy). What they say is that:

1) Most of Shar-Peis are allergic to something and the only way to figure it out is an experimental way.
2) Shar-Peis are developing allergies in a very early age and most likely it would be a food allergy (not pollen allergy to the grass or dust).
3) One of the vets recommended to put him on Rabbit+potato diet and see.

He is scratching himself awfully. He is even whyning sometimes while scratching and I'm crying with him.

Therefore,

PHRiot, you've mentioned that your doberman is allergic too. My questions are:

1) How did you figure that out: what kind of tests your vet did to figure it out (scrapping, biopsy, blood test, etc). All the vets say that it's too early to do a bloodtest (they usually do it after a dog turnes 1 year).

2) Why "Naturaproduct"? Was that your vet who recommended "Naturaproduct" to your baby? I was ready to order "Naturaproduct" online, but my vet said that we have to forget about EVERYTHING but rabbit meat and potato. And I can't find this freaking rabbit meat anywhere here where I live! The nearest farm is 200 miles away!

3) But, of course, I'm mostly interested in how did you find out that allergy. I've already spent tones of dollars and still keep doing the tests. And they are painful for him too! Today I'll have to leave him at vet's where they gonna seduce him for a while. He's getting neurotic!
