::::Well, now I've seen it all. We have blizzard conditions here and thunder and lightening all at the same time. If that isn't bad enough, I have Katie sitting on my lap as I type. LOL Hmmmm, maybe a warm front is trying to make its way in here and turn this all to rain. Now, that would be very nice. (:

:::snow-thunder & lightening? wow mary lou...all you need is hail to top things off!

::Yeah, Marg, isn't that something. Poor Katie thought summer had arrived. LOL Gary mentioned that they called it snow thunder and that night our weather man referred to it as that also. I thought thunder resulted from a warm front meeting a cold front but we sure didn't get any warmer weather. (:

:Mary Lou,
:A couple of weks ago south of Indianapolis they had a strange thing happen to the snow. All conditions were just right and the wind rolled the snow up and it looked like rolls of paper towels complete with the tube in the middle. They were everywhere. The snow was rolled across the ground and formed cylinders. Was a very strange thing that very seldom happens. A friend set me a couple of photos but it didn't show them too well.
:I don't know if I could post them so that you would be able to see them or not.

Gary, I think I saw some pictures in the paper about that...very strange. I suppose with the snow thunder you could have a lower cold mass of air with the warmer mass on top. I never heard an explanation of how snow thunder happens. We sure have had a strange mixture of everything this winter. (:
