:::I just got home from dog shows today. I show in obedience only. But my Border Collie got the 1st leg of his CDX Fri. with a 2nd place and score of 194.5. He got his 2nd leg today with a 1st place and score of 193. Only 1 more to go! Yippee!

::COngrats! WOW. I have a pointer who has her CDX title. I will not reveal her scores on the grounds that I might have you laughing so hard you fall off your chair. HOWEVER, she WAS #1 in Open for the American Pointer CLub that year... hehehe

:Anyone who truly understands what goes into accomplishing these obedience titles would never laugh at your scores!!! I was just so very proud of My Boy (and still wrapped up in the excitement) that I posed them- and I shouldn't have. Someone should keep track of the hours of training, practice and more practice that is put into these accomplishments - nevermind months and years! There's a woman in my dog club who stopped showing her dogs because I had gotten higher scores than she had. Rubbish! What conts is the relatinship you develop with your dog and what the 2 of you accomplish together. That's it, plain & simple!
:Big congratulations on your dog's CDX!
That's so true. The hours are COUNTLESS. I've been training my CDX bitch for Utility now for about 3 years and we're NEARLY ready.... Training a poitner in obedience can be very difficult as they are "somewhat challenged" in abstract concepts. The nice this is that once they LEARN it, they never forget OR disobey....
Here's Morgan with her dumbbell....
