Did you ever get a response to your post? I commend you for wanting to be such a great dog-owner! I don't know anyone in the Connecticut area, but if you go to the AKC website you can find breeders and clubs in your area. Then I would suggest sending several letters (or phone calls) to these people/clubs and ask them for suggestions. Also ask your breeder, if she is not in your area she should know (or know of) someone in the breed club that would be happy to help you out. You can always contact your breed club and ask for people in your area.

Good luck and please let us know when you get your puppy and tell us about all the placements and ribbons you get! :-)
