:In September my dog broke her leg & it ended up being caused by bone cancer which led to the amputation of her leg. I tried everything to make moving her easier on both of us - she's a rott-mix & weighs about 90 pounds. We had to make numerous visits to our vet & specialists for biopsies, surgery etc. I used all kinds of make shift things from blankets to metal shelves with foam on them. The day she dove off the metal shelf I almost had a heart attack. I went to a military surplus store & intended on buying a stretcher - but I found something better. It sounds morbid - but military body bags work great. It has six handles on it & it looks too long to work - but if you leave it zipped & fold it in half It's the perfect size for a dog & it's sturdy, waterproof & washable & can be carried by 1 - 4 people. You can also slip it under the dog rather than having to lift the dog onto something else. I just wanted to share this incase anyone runs into the same problems as I did.
