:i just got a two year old silky terrer.i took him to the vet, gave him his shots and the vet told me that he is 75% blind and underweight. when i first took him home he would not stand up straight but kinda hunched over draging his feet. now after 3 days with us, he appears to be more comfortable with us. he is standing up straight, walking around and playing with our two larger dogs. he eats twice a day, but very small portions.also, it appears that his hearing is not good at all. now he, just out of nowhere he starts barking and growling also when you pet him or try to pick him up. he is not very social or affectionate. his grwling is starting to scare me and i need your advice on this situation. is it just a matter of time? could it be rabies? would could be the cause of him losing his site and can anything be done to fix it? also, his hearing? is this normal behavior for a blind and hard of hearing pup and what is the best way to deal with it?
:thank you, your response is most appreciated and needed.
Hello,
I'm sorry to hear about your dog, but this forum is for members to post feedback and suggestions about the running of Dog Hobbyist, not for asking behavior questions. I'd suggest posting your question on our Behavior and Emotions Forum where you will get people reading the question and hopefully have some ideas for you.
I wish you luck!
